Sustainable Recirculating  Aquaculture System for high-yield, organic fish farming

Mission

  • At KAI Aquaculture, our mission is to redefine sustainable seafood production through innovative, eco-friendly Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS).
  • We are committed to maximizing efficiency, minimizing environmental impact, and delivering premium-quality brackish water fish.
  • By integrating cutting-edge technology, responsible farming practices, and a deep respect for marine ecosystems, we aim to meet the rising global demand for high-value seafood while ensuring long-term sustainability.

location

  • Goa offers an optimal environment for brackish water RAS aquaculture due to its coastal geography, stable climate, and access to high-quality ground and estuarine resources.
  • With consistent temperatures (26-30°C) year-round, Goa ensures optimal fish growth rates for species like Asian sea bass (barramundi). Additionally, Goa’s port connectivity (Mormugao & JNPT) facilitates feed imports and fish exports.
  • The local seafood industry and tourism market further provide a strong demand for fresh, high-value seafood.

WHY RAS?

Recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) operate by filtering water from the fish tanks so it can be reused within the tank. This dramatically reduces the amount of water and space required to intensively produce seafood products. The steps in RAS include solids removal, ammonia removal, Co2 removal and oxygenation.

RAS Aquaculture systems 90% less land area and 97% water to produce the same amount of fish. With marine fish stocks depleting at an unprecedented rate, and growing scarcity of suitable land / water; RAS is emerging as the most efficient and sustainable method of aquaculture.
